consequences if she refuses to accept Court’s ruling”
The former President Park Geun-hye ultimately prioritized herself and her supporters over the South Korean people. Without showing an ounce of remorse, she insisted that the truth will eventually prevail. She almost seemed to suggest that she will not obey the Constitutional Court’s decision.
If by any chance she does protest against the Court’s ruling, we would like to stress that she will face much bigger consequences.
The former president Park, now a ‘civilian’ and a ‘criminal suspect’ on thirteen charges, must cooperate with the prosecutor’s investigation to unveil the ‘truth.’
Without regard to partisan political consideration, the prosecutors must uncover the truth and severely punish the crimes through immediate and thorough investigation.
The ‘Candlelight Revolution’ is not yet over. With the corrupt government now removed, building a new democratic regime must be achieved to complete our mission.
It is clear that through regime change in May, can we address the yearnings of 1.6 million candlelight protesters, open a new chapter for Korea, eradicate the social ills of our society and seek national integration.
Democratic Party will accomplish our historical duty of seeking a regime change so as to root out long-accumulated social ills and create a new Korea.
Before announcing the election date, the acting president Hwang must clarify his political stance. The acting president is jointly liable for the ‘complete political turmoil’ the Park administration has caused. By running for presidency itself, he shall mock the Korean people and subvert the Constitutional order.
Liberty Korea Party is courting controversy as they make ‘special exceptions’ for the acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn whilst making the election rules. We firmly remind Liberty Korea Party, a party of a dismissed President, not to behave irresponsible.

“박근혜 전 대통령, 사실상 ‘불복’이라면 책임은 몇 갑절 더 커질 것”
박 전 대통령은 끝내 ‘국민’이 아닌 ‘자신’과 ‘친박’을 선택했다. 국민 앞에 뉘우친다는 말 한마디 하지 않고, ‘진실’을 운운하며 사실상 불복이나 다름없는 선언을 했다.
만에 하나 그 뉘앙스 그대로 ‘불복’이라면 그에 따르는 책임은 몇 갑절 더 커질 것이라는 점을 분명히 강조한다.
이제 박 전 대통령은 ‘민간인’이자 13건의 혐의가 있는 ‘피의자’ 신분으로 검찰 수사에 반드시 응해 ‘진실’을 밝히는 데 협조해야 할 것이다.
검찰 역시 그 어떤 정치적, 정무적 고려 없이 즉각적이고 단호한 수사로 국민 앞에 낱낱이 진실을 규명하고 그 죄를 엄히 다스려야 할 것이다.
촛불시민혁명은 끝나지 않았다. 탄핵으로 부패한 정권을 물리쳤다면, 새로운 민주정권을 만드는 것이 촛불시민혁명의 완수일 것이다.
분명한 것은 ‘5월 정권교체’만이 1,600만 촛불민심의 본령이자, 새로운 대한민국의 출발이며, 적폐청산과 국민통합의 길이 될 것이다.
민주당은 적폐청산과 새로운 대한민국을 위해 정권교체를 향한 역사적 소명을 반드시 이뤄내겠다.
황 대행은 대통령 선거일을 공고하기 전에 거취를 분명히 밝혀야 할 것이다. 황 대행은 박근혜 정권의 ‘총체적인 국정 파탄’의 ‘1급 공동책임자’이다. 대통령으로 출마한다는 것 자체가 국민을 우롱하는 것이고, 헌정질서를 어지럽히는 일이 될 것이다.
자유당은 경선 룰을 정하면서 황교안 대행 등을 고려한 듯한 ‘특례성’ 경선 룰을 만들어 논란을 자초하고 있다. 대통령 파면 정당으로서 무책임한 태도라는 점을 분명히 지적한다.
